Contracts of Employment
We advise employees of all seniority on the terms of their contracts of employment.
If you need advice on a new contract which you are being asked to sign, your rights and duties under an existing contract of employment or changes to an existing contract of employment, our team can help you. If you are leaving employment, we can advise you on your rights, such as the notice you are entitled to receive from your employer (and what to do if you do not get it) as well as advising you on what you can and cannot do during your notice period or after your termination of employment (if restrictive covenants apply to you for example).
Whatever your level of seniority, the legal principles of your contract of employment will be the same. However, if you are a senior executive the benefits package you receive will be more complex (such as bonuses and share options) and the restrictions on what you can and cannot do post-termination are likely to be more onerous. You may also be the legal Director of a company and so will require advice on your obligations as a Director as well as an employee.
