Children
One of the most important aspects of managing any separation, whether the parents are married, cohabiting or simply in a relationship is keeping the impact upon any children of the family to a minimum.
As such, wherever possible and appropriate, we seek to encourage parents to agree matters outside of the Courts, whether this be achieved through attending mediation, participating in a collaborative law approach with the assistance of solicitors or simply negotiating matters directly. This often ensures that a long-term relationship for the purpose of addressing the children’s needs can be maintained between the parties whilst minimising costs.
Often parents are able to use one of these methods to achieve a Parenting Plan which reflects their joint intentions for future arrangements for their children as well as offering information and guidance to assist with discussions between them.
